Blackburn Media Chatham is seeking an experienced and results-driven Media Sales Manager to join our dynamic sales team. This individual will be responsible for managing and expanding our media sales efforts, driving revenue, and building strong relationships with clients. As a key player in the sales department, you will develop and implement strategies to grow market share and enhance the visibility of our media offerings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly/annual radio & digital revenue targets
• Sales Strategy Development: Create and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and grow the client base.
• Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of sales representatives to achieve individual and team goals
• Track and analyze sales performance metrics, providing regular reports to the Director of Sales
• Maintain, service and grow an existing client list
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify new opportunities for growth.
• Work closely with other managers within the branch to ensure optimal success
• Ongoing awareness of our clients’ day to day challenges
• Receivables control

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 3 years of media sales management experience preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of media sales experience preferred
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
• Education in digital sales and marketing preferred
• In-depth knowledge of media industry trends, including digital marketing & radio advertising
• Ability to think strategically and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• High level of initiative/self motivation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong Presentation Skills
• Goal-Oriented
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

A part time opportunity where you will spend your weekend visiting local community events and representing our radio stations.  Don’t worry, this job does not include on air responsibilities, but it does require a fun, friendly and energetic personality. You will represent CKNX AM 920, 101.7 The One and CoOL 94.5 at events across Midwestern Ontario.  

Work week is 7 and a half hours per day every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (22.5 hours per week) starting June 27, 2025 through August 31, 2025.  

• Work closely with Community Marketing and Promotions preparing a weekly schedule
• Attend station events and maximize station’s on-site presence at community events
• Driving the Summer Cruiser throughout Midwestern Ontario, primarily evenings and weekends
• Proactively engage listeners, clients and general public
• Update stations social media and website including photos and blogs
• Maintain upkeep of station vehicles (fuel, cleaning, etc) and promotional signage
• Complete summer cruiser report of weekly activities
• Additional duties as assigned by Community Marketing and Promotions

Skills Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in media or marketing preferred but not necessary
• Valid G or G2 driver’s license with a Clean 3 year Ministry of Transportation abstract

94.3 CKSY, CFCO and COOL FM has exciting new opportunities for Summer Road Crew Members at our Chatham location. Blackburn Media’s Summer Road Crew Program is the “Brand Ambassador” for our stations; hitting the streets and attending the region’s best festivals and events. The summer work term is anytime between May – September 2025.

Responsibilities:

• Attend all major station promotions, designated client promotions, and non-profit events as scheduled
• Proactively engage with listeners, clients and the general public while on-location
• Distribution of promotional items including station marketing and swag items
• Set up, maintain, and keep inventory of signage, station equipment, station vehicles, prizing etc.
• Assist with social media management including written posts and stories on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
• Other duties relating to event management as assigned
• Report to the Marketing & Promotions Coordinator

Required Skills And Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (ex: Weekdays, Weekends and Evenings)
• Experience in the media and broadcasting industry considered an asset
