Media Sales Manager (Chatham, Ontario)

Blackburn Media Chatham-Kent is looking for a strategic, motivated, and results-driven Media Sales Manager to lead our sales team. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, developing new business opportunities, and strengthening client relationships across our radio and digital platforms. This role carries a client list to manage and develop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Generation: Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets for radio and digital sales.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement innovative sales strategies to increase market share and grow our client base.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Client Management & Sales: Maintain and grow an portfolio of clients through networking, and researching potential clients, identifying and cultivating new business opportunities.
  • Performance Tracking: Analyze sales metrics and provide regular reporting to the Director of Sales.
  • Market Awareness: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions to inform sales strategies.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other department leaders to ensure integrated success across the organization.
  • Client Insights: Maintain a deep understanding of clients’ challenges and business goals to offer tailored solutions.
  • Receivables Oversight: Ensure timely collection of client payments and manage receivables efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of media sales management experience (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in media sales (preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong knowledge of radio and digital advertising trends
  • Education in digital marketing or media sales is an asset
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Highly self-motivated with strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong prospecting and networking capabilities
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
  • Positive, professional, and client-focused demeanor

Multimedia Journalist (Sarnia, Ontario)

Blackburn Media Inc. is looking for an energetic journalist to work in our newsroom in Sarnia, Ontario. 

Your duties will include, but not be limited to: newscasting, field and desk reporting, creating multimedia news content for SarniaNewsToday.ca and our social media platforms, and creating social media engagement across multiple platforms.

The successful candidate will possess: 

  • A diploma or degree in journalism from an accredited post-secondary institution. 
  • Exceptional news judgement. 
  • An ability to write clear and concise news stories for on-air and online presentation. 
  • A strong on-air sound. 
  • A strong work ethic. 
  • A critical mind and a willingness to dig for the story. 
  • A valid driver’s licence.

Blackburn Media has an exciting and rare opportunity for a Morning Personality to join the FOX Morning Show on 99.9 The FOX in Sarnia, Ontario. This is your chance to connect with Sarnia every morning, delivering music, banter, contests, interviews, and local stories that matter.

At Blackburn Media, you’ll be part of a close, collaborative team across 14 stations and our Digital Marketing Agency, Brand One. Your contributions will make a real impact, on air, online and in the community.

We’re looking for someone who understands the music our listeners love, and thrives at live broadcasts, events, and on-location appearances. You’ll join longtime host Sarah Woodley to create engaging, entertaining content that keeps listeners coming back.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Host the Morning Show on 99.9 the FOX 5:30a – 10:00a, creating fun, relevant content daily that’s on brand and aligned with the expectations of our audience of Females 35-54.
  • Creating Content, updating and monitoring social media and Websites.
  • Establish your presence by participating in station events and represent 99.9 the FOX as you host on-site events, remotes & live broadcasts as required.
  • Assist Programming with music log scheduling.
  • Voice Commercials/Promos for production purposes as required.
  • Voice Tracking as necessary.
  • Assisting in developing and executing contests and promotions.
  • Be a team player, attending regular programming meetings and other duties assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A dynamic personality with strong on-air presentation. Minimum 3 years of full-time previous on-air experience, Morning Show experience is an asset.
  • Experience with Music Master, Wide Orbit, and Adobe Audition is an asset.
  • A valid G license with a clean driving record.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational, communication and multi-tasking skills.
  • Understand the value of social media as an essential radio tool. Consistently engage with our audience on social media.
  • Radio Broadcasting Diploma preferred.
  • Being relatable and memorable wins – and that is what will help 99.9 the FOX to build on its success.
